Something About You
Is it completely unfair to say that it seems like all the best music seems to be coming from the UK these days? Or is just that we somehow only notice the great ones from across the pond here? Either way, one thing is perfectly clear: Dornik is a can’t miss artist. Signed to PMR Records and already garnering endorsements from the likes of Jessie Ware and Disclosure (who’ve compared him to the late, great Michael Jackson), Dornik seems primed to make it big. While comparisons to The King of Pop may seem ambitious, they’re not entirely gratuitous. It’s not exactly through his voice where the resemblance is first noticed, but more his style and approach to his music. “Something About You” is a track that draws inspiration from the past, but doesn’t feel stuck in it, providing the listener with a fresh and evocative experience. There’s just something about the soothing vocals that makes you want to kick back and relax by the pool, but also get up and dance your ass off at the same time. This is definitely one to keep as a fixture in your playlists this summer.
