Why do I like Milk Face so much you ask? Because of their filthy dj sets Midge keep sending over.
If you live in Shoreditch, East London, check out club 333 every first Saturday of the month. We will bring you the live set of Saturdays show next week.
Party starting German trio Acidkids have just released an electro track meant to melt your brain off. An ambitious feat for any artists, really, as brain-melting is considered highly rude in many corners of the world.
No joke aside this track is amazing. The amount of beating the vocals endour is impressive. I mean if Acidkids were married to these vocals there is no way they can get less than a life sentence for first degree murder (and possibly attempted murder of your ears). The battering dubstep beat does not help their case either.
It was really in 2009 when I started hitting up a lot of raves and techno/trance clubs that I became an avid junkie of this extremely stretched out clusterfuck of effects that ive come to love as Dirty Electro. Theres something appealing about the chaos and progression of electro techno. This new fully dynamic track from Stereoheroes is completely insane… and if your not of a fan of electronic music, we always got something less crazy.
Midge, among a lot of other music related projects he is in, is one of the guys from Milk Face who records his live dirty electro sets every month. I am blown away by how current this guy stays always changing his set to include brand new tracks and remixes.. and December was no exception.
Here is a one and a half hour set recorded live at Milk Face @ the 333 in Shoreditch, London on 5th December 2009. Featuring 30 all new dirty electro, bassline and fidget house tracks by Calvertron, Mightyfools, Foamo, Dada Life, DJ Dan & Hatiras, Major Lazer, 2manyDjs, Chewy Chocolate Cookies, Don Rimini, Lazy Rich, Duck Sauce, Armand Van Helden, Laidback Luke and Joachim Garraud. This track may not be your cup of tea but for some reason I found it very comforting.. aside from making my ears bleed. I am a bigger fan of dirty stretched out electronic melodies more than I am at heavy basses but I gave this a try and now I am glad I did.
Check out Mr. Vega remix of Vortech’s genre mash up Wub Steppin’. Thanks to UK label Kiss My Bass Recordings for hooking us up with this track.
“It’s a totally ace banger, heavily extracted from the original but with some great techno flavour”
DJ Skeet Skeet rolled into Los Angeles simply as Trevor McFedries.
Trevor spent his high school years playing football, shredding in hardcore bands, and being awkward around girls. Having had a less than successful run in college lasting a solid two semesters, Trevor moved back in with his mom and started throwing his life away by frequenting the LA party scene. A few too many nights out on the town paired with an affinity for Lil Jon and DJ Skeet Skeet was born. He started doing DIY parties in Hollywood with other up and coming DJs like Royal Rumble, LA Riots and Young Americans (now Classixx). -last.fm
I gotta be honest and say that I am not much of a Ke$ha fan, having said that, Skeet Skeet techno remix makes it easier to accept her singing. However, I have become a fan of Sky Ferreira, an upcoming American pop singer that has already signed a record deal with grandaddy EMI records. Here are remixes from both these female singers.
I know what your dirty minds are thinking, ‘Milk Face Party’ sounds like a couple of guys doing a filthy and dirty act. And well, you are right! These Electro House DJ’s from London calling themselves Milk Face have a pretty simple and clear goal: To play dirtier, messier, bassier and more fucked up every month! And this is the kind of attitude that we encourage.
If you need to get your electro fix to start your day or to end your night, check out this HOUR LONG recording of a live set they did @ 333 club in Shoreditch, East London.
