While West Coast producer TJR will forever be best known for bringing “Funky Vodka” to the world (you know, that track that dominated the Beatport charts for weeks on end), his consistent releases of ass-shaking tech house under Chris Lake’s Rising Music label are out to prove that he’s no one-hit wonder. Though he hails from the US, his brand of seriously bouncy house music has made him a huge name here in the clubbing scene of Melbourne, and on behalf of my nation I’d like to adopt him as an honourary Australian. He continues his string of funky productions with “Same Old Fool,” which comes with a remix package courtesy of QiDD, Son!k and Zoolanda, all adding their own spin on things while maintaining that infectious bouncy vibe. The Son!k remix is definitely the pick of the bunch for me because I know that synth would absolutely light Melbourne dancefloors on fire. That’s just me being patriotic though. Stream the rest of the EP below and pick them up on Beatport.
