Curses & DKDS
Trouble Feat. SYF

NYC underground house purveyor Curses, one of Luca Venezia’s tasteful music projects (known in other circles by his Drop The Lime moniker as well) last teamed up with fellow Brooklyn house stalwarts DKDS for their early, Chicago jack-house influenced “Silence”, which saw official release over a year ago. After getting this one lost in the shuffle of the weekend we knew it warranted its own space here on TMN as the collaboration has once again reignited through an absolutely groovy deep-house burner “Trouble”. Featuring the vocals of SYF, who once plied his incredible incantations for one of the best live house acts of the last decade -Azari & III- “Trouble” is a haunting piece of house music which has this writer recollecting some of our favorite dingy dance floors over the years while playing out soulfully smoother than most anything Curses or DKDS have delivered us in the past. We’ve already had the pleasure of seeing Luca drop this one (get it?) the last time he came through Denver and its subdued intoxicating effect works even better on a gigantic club stack. So why don’t you do your ears a favor this afternoon and plug “Trouble” into a worthy system, sit back, and drift away. You can purchase a copy of “Trouble”, which is being put out through Ultra Records here on Beaport here, but if you aren’t bumping this one on the player above already, well… you should be.
