Star Slinger – Ladies In The Back feat. Teki Latex

After releasing the more high-impact “Take This Up” a few weeks ago, Star Slinger has decided to take it down a notch with his latest single “Ladies In The Back”. Featuring French vocalist Teki Latex — whose singing is more of a robotic, hypnotic speak-talk — the track is far more laid back than we’re used to from Star, but nevertheless is a strong piece. Bits of his signature style can still be heard here, which, coupled with the song’s swagger, help convince us that this relaxed approach is most definitely worth trying out.

“Ladies In The Back” will be included on an EP of the same name, due out November 26th via Star Slinger’s own label Jet Jam.

[Electronic] Star Slinger – Take This Up

Manchester-based DJ Darren Williams, AKA Star Slinger, brings the heat again. This new single marks the release of yet another flavor of Star Slinger’s diverse repertoire of sounds. It’s not a reworking of an existing song, but one entirely mixed himself. Added to the typical chopped-up R&B vocal bites are some highs and lows of electro synths sure to get your feet moving. This track reminds me a lot of Kill Paris‘ “I Do Love You” (definitely worth a listen.)

Compare this to another Star Slinger tune that is a little smoother, but equally as catchy: H-Town‘s “They Like it Slow (Star Slinger Refix)”. We hope Darren Williams has some more tricks up his sleeve.

Bondax you're so star slinger remix

If you’re a fan of the underground British electronic scene, then we’ve got one hell of a treat for you with this ace remix from Mancunian producer Star Slinger. Star Slinger has taken the Lancaster sibling duo Bondax’s “You’re So” and added layer upon layer of drum rhythms which work in perfect harmony with the original’s soulful female vocals and smooth synths. This subtle but masterful reworking of “You’re So” is the soundtrack to the early morning after the clubs, the gentle comedown after the hard night out. Enjoy.

[Chill] Jessie Ware – Wildest Moments (Star Slinger Remix)

It’s too early to tell, but Jessie Ware’s Wildest Moments has the potential to become the very next installment into the long list of overly remixed songs that plagues the radio for far too long. Let’s be optimistic here though…UK hip hop producer, Star Slinger just dropped a dope trappy remix that might give this one some added shelf life. The beat is undeniably captivating with a hint of tribal nature accompanied by Jessie Ware’s slightly sped up, but still so chill vocals. This beautifully crafted remix culminates in an emotional crescendo of Jessie Ware’s chorus and leaves us with the dwelling echo of her voice. Check out the original version HERE.

[New] Star Slinger – Bad Bitches (ft. Stunnaman and lil B)

On “Bad Bitches” Star Slinger teams back up with Stunnaman from The Pack, who you might remember from the hugely successful track “Vans”, in a reunion of sorts. This time, adding Lil B to the mix to add some extra flavor- which makes sense because the collabo was his idea in the first place (contacting Star Slinger via Twitter).

The track, titled “Bad Bitches”, is kind of glitchy and chaotic- which is something I’ve always like about Star Slinger’s style. Typically, he takes the reigns and drives the track home while Stunnaman and Lil B compliment his already terrific delivery and add to the track’s dynamic range. Stream Below:

[Electronic/R&B Remix] Star Slinger feat. Reggie B- Dumbin (Diplo Remix)

A little while back, Star Slinger released his debut single featuring R&B act Reggie B. The original “Dumbin'” had somewhat of a tropical vibe, that I personally wasn’t into. Superproducer Diplo got his hands on the track, adding spacey synths and hard kick drums to entirely transform “Dumbin” into dance jam for the late night bump and grind. Diplo has the ability to remix a song and make it better than the original. That’s why he is probably the best producer out there right now.
