Unknown (feat. Vanessa Elisha) [Off upcoming VINYL/EP]

There’s very few artists we’d immediately drop everything at hand for, but you can be certain that XXYYXX and Vanessa Elisha are two of them. The 18 year old producer has been experimenting with quite an array of varying sounds over the last few months, but this latest effort finds him returning to some of his lo-fi roots as he links up with the Aussie native on “Unknown.” After one listen, it’s safe to say this collaboration left us breathless. After two listens, well, we’d rather not divulge what that did to us. Fusing together a unique mix of brooding, wavy production with Vanessa’s sultry vocals, the young Floridian creates a hypnotizing concoction that’ll definitely leave you begging for more.

Ever the man of mystery, the enigmatic producer has spared us very few details about the release, though he has dropped a couple of hints about what the future holds for him. While the title of this song is “Unknown,” we do know that it’ll be on an upcoming yet-to-be-named vinyl EP. Though some more information would be nice, we’ve learned to accept what we can get out of the talented musician.

Ocean (Prod. By J-Louis)

Lately my good friends have tried putting me onto new artists, but thanks to all of my ninjas, I typically have heard it. Tonight a good friend put me on to the beautiful vocalist Vanessa Elisha, and I am blown away! Just from hearing this first track alone, I know that Vanessa Elisha is going to be a huge name soon. There is just something about her voice on “Ocean” that screams success! It isn’t overly tuned, or edited to sound perfectly pitched. Vanessa Elisha has either had some vocal training, or is a complete natural. Whatever the case may be, this is a name you will be seeing more from us.

Journey To The Middle East/ft-Vanessa Elisha

Let’s take a trip. Better yet, a journey. A “Journey To The Middle East” where if they had more music like this, peace might be a more attainable aspiration. Coming through with your weekly dose of Friday feels is Haan808, who brings us this mind-numbingly beautiful piece, plucked straight from his recently released Thank Them EP. The “them” we should be thanking in this case are the talented New Zealand based producer, and his wonderful partner, the gorgeous and gifted Vanessa Elisha, who’ve teamed up for one of the most gloriously mesmerizing numbers we’ve heard in quite some time.  As the gates to heaven slowly creak open, we find ourselves greeted by Elisha’s soothing, yet sultry angelic vocals. While her presence shortly fades out, we’re left immersed in a complete state of euphoria, surrounded by wavey synths and varied endearing percussion. We found ourselves locked in the single’s spellbinding grasp more than a few times during the lead-up to this post, and we’re confident you’ll lose yourself in the experience as well. Check out the miraculous single above, and be sure to thank Haan by snagging a copy of his EP over on Bandcamp.

Sunday Night Soul [Vol. 23]

This is a special day folks, and I’m sure plenty of you already know why. While we won’t explicitly spell it out for you, we hope many of you celebrated the occasion in your own special ways. However, there is one matter of business left to take care of, and that’s making sure you end your night on the right note, with some Sunday Night Soul.

While we expected to have plenty more holiday “anthems” to provide you with tonight, we still believe we have the perfect lineup to zone out to, and help lull you into dreamland. We can’t help but feel a special connection to this week’s crop of tracks, but maybe that’s because a few of these already helped carry us through our day as well.

Sunni Colón was certainly a popular man this week, as his track “Temple” was remixed by three of our favorite producers, staRo, Esta and Hasta. It’s tough to pick a favorite from that group, but right now we’d have to give the crown to Esta. Impressive performances were also turned in from the likes Namuun AriunRachel Foxx, The Internet, Acropolis Sound, Teyana Taylor, Nina Sky, Kidepo, Sophia Black, Echo, Vanessa Elishakutthrowt, kenji, RVDICAL THE KID, MisterMack, Anushka, Tourist and Reva DeVito & Kaytranada. Of course the fun doesn’t stop there, so as an added bonus, we’ve also included the full album stream of Blackbear‘s The Afterglow, to ensure the maximum amount of feels. You already know the drill folks, and if you’re not high for this right now, we’re sure you’ll be feeling something once you reach the end of this one (and we don’t mean the munchies).
