“I Can’t” is more than simply a hit song. The two creatives work together in stride to deliver an enjoyable sonic adventure that blends together a sad realization with a promising sentiment. The spirited instrumental at times can be somewhat somber, fitting in line with the direction of the vocals – performed sensationally by lulunah – but at others gives a sense of optimism. For anybody that’s been in a relationship (sorry any Forever Aloners out there), this should hit near home.

[Electronic] Chris Siegel – This Is How EP

Most of the time when an artist releases a single, we ask ourselves, what were the other versions of the unfinished track like? Did the sound change? Well, Chris Siegel and Strehlow answered that for us with their EP This Is How. The double single project features the title track, along with a VIP that takes a turn down a completely different road.

With the original “This Is How” we get a poppy tune that is highly influenced by a tropical-infused moombahton sound. Chris Siegel and Strehlow put together a complex composition with a lot of different moving parts that couldn’t have been easy to do. They made it flow without a hitch, with the result being one incredibly smooth record. With the VIP, the producers take the track down a future bass path, but still keep some of the original vibe. It feels like a 180, but when you really listen, it’s still got that Summer time vibe to it. Collaborators on the project include Siren, Lex Allen and Christine Hoberg. We applaud everyone’s efforts in the creation of both these masterpieces that you can download for free individually. Doesn’t get much better than that.

Milwaukee’s own Chris Siegel is partnering up with the ninjas to premiere his new single entitled “Jersey” today. Chris makes up half of the duo Kiings, which has some new things on the horizon, however that’s not stopping Chris from dishing things out under his own project. With “Jersey” we get a rambunctious style of Jersey club, one that Chris describes as being infused with “90’s R&B, and Timbaland-esque foreign instrumentation.” Certainly anyone can hear just how wild Chris gets with the instrumentation, utilizing several instruments and sounds in his bubbly composition. Chris starts the year of strong with “Jersey,” an official release under Noh Life. If you would like to see Chris live, along with other Noh Life members, then you’re in luck; they will be on tour starting January 14th for almost exactly one month. Don’t miss out!
