[NEW] Snoop Lion – No Guns Allowed (Feat. Drake & Cori B) (Prod. Major Lazer, Ariel Rechtshaid & Dre Skull)

Snoop Lion
No Guns Allowed (feat. Drake & Cori B.)

After Snoop Lion premiered his brand new single live on Conan last week, fans have been hotly anticipating the song’s official release. The final version, which Snoop uploaded to SoundCloud today, features a brand new verse from Drake, as well as vocals from his own daughter, Cori B. As a major player in the West Coast-East Coast rivalry of the early-90’s, it’s great to now see Snoop reversing his stance on gun violence and standing up against it. The song also features a side of Drake we really haven’t seen before, as he reflects on the tragic loss of some friends due to shootings last summer in Toronto. Although there is no download link yet, those interested in this song will be able to find it on Snoop Lion’s upcoming album, Reincarnated, dropping April 23.

[NEW] Drake – 5AM in Toronto (prod. Boi-1da)

Drake is back at it again with another anthem-esque track that might surpass the already enormous popularity of his most recent release, “Started From The Bottom.” Not only does Boi-1da cultivate a manic, heavy instrumental, but Drizzy truly goes in with some lines sure to be repeated, in chanting fashion, by this ninja over the weekend. Enjoy “5AM in Toronto” and grab a free download of this slap below. Nothing Was The Same drops later this year.

[Video] Drake – Started From The Bottom

Last week, we received a look at Drake‘s new single, “Started From The Bottom,” from his upcoming album, Nothing Was The Same. Just as promised, we now have the official visuals too, which dropped right after The Grammy’s (where Drake’s Take Care won the award for Best Rap Album). Shot in his native Toronto, Drizzy runs us through his ascent from the “bottom” to the top, with a whole lot of clowning in between. After watching the video, it’s hard to consider the song as anything other than a joke. It’s nice to see that Drizzy can have some fun with the concept, even when he’s trying to act hard. If you’re feeling the single, you can cop it on iTunes now.

[NEW] Drake – Started From The Bottom (Prod. Mike Zombie)

It has been some time since we’ve heard any new solo material from hip-hop superstar Drake. Today, the Toronto-based artist let loose a stream of his latest single,  which will be officially released on the day of the Grammy’s, and it definitely does not disappoint. Although the sound is a bit more devious carrying a mesmerizing piano loop, “Started From The Bottom” has all the makings of another hit for Drizzy. What y’all ninjas think?

[Hip-Hop/Acid House] ILLA – Doing It Wrong (ILLA Remix) & Smoke Good, Live Good (Acid House Remix)

ILLA, better known as 1/3 of THEBLKHANDS, decided to show off his versatility as a producer by dropping these brand new remixes on his recently created SoundCloud page. The first of these two is a remix of Drake‘s “Doing It Wrong” from his Take Care album. ILLA’s iteration of the track manages to keep the essence of the original, while speeding up the vocals and adding some trap snares to give it a more upbeat vibe. It isn’t a banger by any means, but he does infuse it with a more relaxing melody as opposed to the depressing nature it started out with. We have a feeling Drizzy himself would be proud of this one.

With his second remix, ILLA decides to proceed down another route as he turns the “Smoke Good, Live Good” track he produced for THEBLKHANDS into a certified acid house banger. Even with the bars intact, none of the verses seem to sound out of place. If anything, Three 6 Mafia‘s energetic vocals seem more at home on this version of the song. It’s a major departure from the chill vibes of the original, but somehow it works to perfection. Both remixes can be downloaded for free from ILLA’s SoundCloud page. Also, stay tuned for Serbia, THEBLKHANDS’ upcoming album, dropping on March 19th.

[Rap] Nickelus F – Number 15 feat. Drake

Nickelus F is a seasoned vet in the rap game. Rapping and writing with Canadian native Drake, it is safe to say that he is one of the most underrated talents in the game right now. With his new single “Number 15”, he reunites with the OVOXO leader on this darker Jake One production. Speaking on making it and remaining focus, this bonus track is a nice cut from the Virginia MC’s new mixtape Vices.

[Hip-Hop] Lil Wayne – Good Kush & Alcohol (Bitches Love Me)(Feat. Drake & Future)(Prod. Mike WiLL Made It)

As easy as it is for the three artists mentioned above to get on your nerves, you have to admit that they have an affinity for making some pretty catchy tunes. For his latest single, Weezy enlists both Drake and Future to share duties on the chorus, while he occupies the rest of the Mike WiLL produced backdrop with some trash talking and singing of his own. What else would you expect from a new Lil Wayne track? For those interested, you can find this one on Wayne’s upcoming album, I Am Not a Human Being II, expected in stores February 19th.
