Bed Peace (Feat. Childish Gambino)

LA native Jhené Aiko is finally gearing up for her brand new Sail Out EP, and today she’s dropping off the first single from the project, “Bed Peace” featuring Childish Gambino. Just as the title suggests, “Bed Peace” is a tranquil and breezy number meant to be played in the early hours of the morning. Jhené’s vocals are as soothing as ever, while Bino chips in with a smooth verse that has him toning things down a bit to fit in with this mellow groove. Along with Childish, other features on the EP will include Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, Big Sean, and Wiz Khalifa. Jhené’s Sail Out EP is set to be released on October 29th, while her album Souled Out will follow shortly after.

[Hip-Hop] Childish Gambino – Centipede

Yesterday, Childish Gambino tweeted out a link to his website, iamdonald.com, without much further context. That link led to a rather blank page with nothing but an empty field to type in an email address. Within minutes the site crashed, and many fans were left wondering just what exactly they were subscribing to. Well, we didn’t have to wait very long to see some fruitful results, as we have the first official material from Bino since last year’s Royalty mixtape. “centipede” is a jazzy, piano-driven track that builds up pretty slowly and climaxes around the 3:00 mark, transforming from a soulful ballad to an absolute banger. It’s typical Gambino flair, featuring honest lyrics and witty punchlines. No word yet on what Gambino’s next project will be or when it’ll drop, but it seems like he’ll plenty of time on his hands to focus on his music career now that he’ll be leaving his role on Community.

Body So Tight ft. Childish Gambino

You know we always love us some new Childish Gambino around here. Produced by Roc Nation’s DJ Reflex, Body So Tight” is an absolute banger that is guaranteed to get you up out of your seats. Bino easily “bodies” the 808 heavy instrumental with a flow reminiscent of his verse on “Do or Die,” his collaboration with Flux Pavillion late last year. “Body So Tight” is the first single from Reflex’s debut EP, due for release later this year.

[Hip-Hop] Chance The Rapper – Acid Rap

As we’ve touched on before, Chicago has been a mecca for extraordinary young talent in hip-hop recently. While Chitown has always has always had representation from some of the hottest lyricists in the game, the city’s been yearning for its next big star. We may have found the answer in Chance The Rapper. After months of anticipation, we finally have our hands on Acid Rap, the follow-up to last year’s debut mixtape, 10 Day. It’s remarkable to see how far Chance has come in just one year. His flow is still whimsical and melodic, and his rhymes are as witty as ever, yet it’s evident through his music that Chance has definitely matured. He’s also accrued a couple of nice cosigns since we last heard from him, including the likes of Action Bronson, Childish Gambino, Ab-Soul and Twista. Take this “chance” to check out a few of the standout tracks below, and make sure to give your blessing by downloading the tape here.

As you’ll soon notice over the next 24 hours, most of the new hip-hop leaks you’ll be hearing will be from Who You Mad At? Me Or Yourself?, Funkmaster Flex‘s monstrous new 53 track mixtape. While the tape is already available for streaming through the official Funkmaster Flex app, it hasn’t fully hit the net yet, meaning we’ll have to settle for individual song releases until then. Lucky for us, this new Childish Gambino track managed to slip through the cracks already. While the sound quality leaves something to be desired, the delivery is classic Bino: witty, clever, and poignant. It’s refreshing to finally hear from Childish again, after some radio silence over the last few months. We can only hope that means another project is on the way, although it could just have something to do with that whole acting thing he seems set upon doing.

Be on the lookout for more exclusives from Who You Mad At? Me Or Yourself?, coming your way soon.

[NEW] Flux Pavilion – Do or Die (ft. Childish Gambino)

Earlier this year, dubstep legend Flux Pavilion got the blogosphere buzzing when he previewed a collaboration with the always creative emcee and 21st century renaissance man, Childish Gambino. After months of anticipation, the full song hit the Internet this morning and most definitely does not disappoint. “Do or Die” begins with an upbeat, building instrumental accompanied by some solid bars from Gambino before exploding into the trademarked epic, heavy bass of Flux. Although hip-hop and dubstep have long been intertwined, this joint effort may be one of the strongest of its kind to date.

This one is perfect for your casual Wednesday rage, and comes just in time for the holiday season. Turn this up, sip on some eggnog and get ratchet with Flux and Childish this Christmas, Hanukkah , Eid, Kwanza and New Years!
