On Record Store Day, Ra Ra Riot and Delicate Steve released an amazing cover of Steve Winwood’s “Valerie”. Today Friendly Fires has released a remix paying homage to Eric Prydz famous “Call On Me” remix, while still mixing in their own flavor.
Ra Ra Riot and Delicate Steve combined forces to produce a Split 7″ which was released exclusively for Record Store Day. Side A is a cover of Steve Winwood’s “Valerie” and Side B is a cover of Brian Eno’s “The Big Ship”
Tango In The Attic return to record stores with their sophomore album “Sellotape” on May 28th and if new single “Mona Lisa Overdrive” is anything to go by it’s going to be a noisier affair than their 2010 debut. Catchy and confident they now swagger with a more direct garage sound whilst still maintaining the afro-pop qualities of their previous endeavors.
“We Can’t Be Beat” serves as another reminder as to why we’re so excited for The Walkmen’s forthcoming sixth album “Heaven”. Building from a delicate, acoustic intro into a heart-warming crescendo, the spacious arrangement of “We Can’t Be Beat” allows Hamilton Leithauser’s vocals to take center stage and steal our hearts.

When a band like Oberhefer, with their hazy indie electronic instrumentation, decides to take on a Kanye song, one can’t stop but wonder of the result. Releasing an official recording covering Runaway, Oberhofer gives us a heavily layered shoegaze version that while may not sound as honest as the original, it still provides an quality rendition.

House Season 8 Episode 20 ‘Post Mortem’ featured two really great tracks worth mentioning. While this season of House is going the ‘Monster of the Week’ route than having a bigger overall story arc, the show still remains strong contender among prime-time drama series.
Opening scene as they carefully take care of the deceased woman, Gareth Dunlop with “Trick of the moonlight” was playing in the background.
And obviously the big weeper at the end when we find out someone from Team House is leaving the hospital, we had Kathleen Edwards’s A Soft Place To Land softy whispering in the background.
Season 8 Episode 20 ‘Post Mortem’ of the Tv show House MD had an amazing soundtrack collection and we have not been disappointed with the picks since.
