Things are heating up this summer for rising DJ and producer Moon Boots aka Peter Dougherty. August 4th he’ll be releasing his debut album First Landing on London based label, Anjunadeep, a hotbed for dutifully picked music gold. Recently released is one of 10 tracks on the upcoming LP, and if the remaining nine are anything like this one we’re in for quite a treat come August.

Moon Boots keeps things laid back and groovy with vocals by Nic Hanson while jazzy guitar and a soulful melody binds this track into the ultimate Summer release leaving us anticipating the remaining album. Last time we covered the work of Daniel Goldstein, your ninja team was in the building as he delivered a previously-unreleased track “Midnight” during his 12:00 New Year’s set at Snowglobe. Despite the lack of coverage recently, make no mistake Lane 8 has been busy churning out contemporary hits with regularity. Over the past few months our favorite French Express / Anjunadeep collaborator has released a dual EP release in Crush/Divina, a summer mixtape, and a long awaited remix of deadmau5’s all-time classic “Strobe”. This week, he’s given us two surprises: a new release as well as details regarding a nationwide winter tour.

[Deep House] Journeyman – Crash Reel

Talented house/bass producers Journeyman return to consciousness today, armed with their new single. Released through the ever-popular Anjunadeep, “Crash Reel” follows on from their successful ‘Spend It All’ EP, which was their debut offering on the label.

This single is a gloriously bassy exploration of deep house, keeping it a fully melodic experience. Soulful vocals make an enticing hook here, whilst a toe-tapping rhythmical progression keeps the tune flowing. This is luscious, grooving dance music at its best – bringing plenty of soul into the mix. Journeyman are still relative newcomers on the scene, but with such a classic sound, there is no doubt that they will remain firmly on the radar.
