[Tropical House] Ariana Grande – Problem (Laura Zocca Cover) (Chris Meid Remix)

Ariana Grande
Problem (Laura Zocca cover) (Chris Meid Remix)

Ever come across a remix that just works so magically well that you completely forget about how the original tune sounds like? Well we have one of those for you today. London-based producer Chris Meid released this remix of Laura Zocca‘s cover of Ariana Grande’“Problem”, in which he completely flips the track making it his own. Starting off with pleasant piano chords and a tropical synth line, the tune gradually brightens up your mood as it goes along. The skilled vocals from Zocca are definitely fitting for this tropical goodness Chris Meid creates.

Following his collaborative track with Felix Jaehn a while back, the talented producer is definitely making a name for himself by coming out with tunes like this one. We are excited to see what else Chris has up his sleeve. Stream above and head to Chris’s Facebook page for a free download.

Embody Feat. A*M*E
Give Me Your Love

British producer Embody just released a brand new single titled “Give Me Your Love” featuring vocals from the Grammy-nominated A*M*E, and it’s everything we would expect and more. The tune starts off really soft and the vocals shine right away. These tropical sounding synths take the spotlight when the beat drops, followed by some killer saxophone synths that make the track exceptionally fun and entertaining.

Don’t let his looks fool you, he is way ahead of his years when it comes to the complexion and appeal of his music. Embody has been really consistent with releasing new music for our hearing pleasure. We definitely sense some big moves coming for the talented producer, so stay tuned!

Indian Summer
Shiner ft. Ginger & The Ghost (option4 Remix)

After storming our pages last week with an utterly groovy remix of Sammy Bananas’ “Money Time” on Fool’s Gold Records, the underground street king of Denver Dance, option4, is back on yet another international tastemaking label, Australian based Sweat It Out, with a deep and glossy remix of Indian Summer’s “Shiner”. option4 rolls the cadence up a bit to suit what has quickly become a stellar signature blend of soul-fueled house and indie-dance while also slathering on a generous helping of punchy kicks and a swinging bassline to the original. With option4 creating such textured and danceable soundscapes with the refined ease and regularity of a twenty-year veteran while simultaneously dragging his fans into deeper waters; it’s no wonder why his layered remixes have been cropping up on some of dance music’s hottest imprints. We’ve been more than tickled with one of our favorite underground dance curators’ more emotive output as of late, and his “Shiner” remix is no different. [Deep-House] Dirty South – Unbreakable (SNBRN Remix)

Dirty South
Unbreakable (SNBRN Remix)

There might not be another artist who carries with them the skill and accessibility to showcase a sound that has dwelled for years in after-hours parties, warehouse venues and Europe in general, but L.A.’s SNBRN has brought an incredibly adept brand of deep, G and indie fueled House music to the masses like few other U.S. musicians could ever dream of. The deep-dance maestro returns to TMN with a highly refreshing take on house legend Dirty South’s “Unbreakable”, which has already earned the coveted support of Pete Tong on one of dance music’s leading resources, BBC Radio 1. SNBRN’s glossed the original tune up with a club leaning tool kit including a soulful, melodic, classic house piano chord progression with the deep swells of kicking bass that have permeated his addictive remixes since we first had the pleasure of gracing our monitors with the SNBRN sound. Let’s kick this Friday morning off with a little underground house varnish from one of our favorite producers around. Get your dancing sneakers.

[Deep-House] The Internet – Dontcha (Need & Necessity Edit)

The Internet
Dont'cha (Need & Necessity Edit)

On paper, matching the smooth soul sounds of Odd Future offshoot The Internet with a forward thinking house beat sounds like a match made in dance-head heaven. As to why we haven’t seen more of it, we’re not exactly sure, but Denver based house duo Need & Necessity have taken all the trouble out of the job and come through with one of their most accessible, catchy edits yet. Coming off of “This Life”, their last original recording, Need & Necessity’s take on “Dontcha” carries with it a rare playability. Whether it’s casually jamming out in your car or on a booming club stack this one has the type of shiny appeal to touch the most ardent of house fans to casual listeners alike. A loungey, almost jazz club vibe is upped through the malleable execution of a rolling, deep bass line which rides along infectiously under The Internet’s sultry original vocal, resulting in a polished dance tune that we’ve been religiously looping all afternoon. The boys are giving this one away for free through their Facebook, so go ahead and snag a download here; and if you missed our group interview with them back in April, check it out.

[House/Garage] Eric David – Walked Outta Heaven [TMN Premiere]

Eric. David.
Walked Outta Heaven (Original Mix)

After first appearing on the pages of TMN through a jacking garage remix of Sam Smith’s “La La La”, budding Denver based House producer Eric David has returned with yet another club gem, “Walked Outta Heaven”. One of his first originals in months and a TMN premiere, “Walked Outta Heaven” bursts out of the gate behind a sliced vocal sample from the congruently titled Jagged Edge tune before Eric David’s clear grasp on compositional dance nuance comes shining through in the form of an incredibly lush and groovy piano melody. Furthermore, his percussive elements on this one including shuffled hi hats and an expansive drum kit meld together like melting butter on toast resulting in a refreshing and utterly loopable dancefloor spark. It’s always wonderful to see another shade of a producer who’s clearly not bound to one sub-genre of dance music, and “Walked Outta Heaven” has us two-stepping all over the offices today. Grab the free download here through digital house imprint Night Supply and start shifting your dancing feet a little early this week.
