Flower

Half Czech, half Turkish singer/songwriter Melis is giving us a sneak peek of her debut EP Parallels with the release of “Flower”, an emotionally-driven indie track that is dedicated to her father. You might recognize her voice from songwriter duo IYES, which has a more electronic and futuristic sound.

Melis explains that how “Flowers” holds a special place in her heart and leaves behind the powerful message – that if you’re going through a tough time in your life, remember to never give up and remain hopeful because dark times will not last forever. Her soothing vocals bring out the vulnerability hidden deep down, and the lyrics speak volumes about the poignant journey she went through.

If you like the talented Melis, be sure to check out the most recent music video of her track “Love Song Idea” below.

Bad (feat. Armani White)

Ain’t nothing wrong with a little bump-and-grind to start your Monday off. Dallas-based singer Christopher Blake teamed up with producer Caden Jester and Philly-based rapper Armani White on this sexy little tune called “Bad”. Blake’s soulful vocals and White’s crafty verse fit perfectly with the slow jam. The lustful guitar solo towards the end further adds to the the sexiness of the track, which resembles the sound of The Hills” by The Weeknd.

The continuous collaboration between Blake and Jester really shows the versatility of their production and the different territory of sounds they are exploring into. Be sure to check these guys out if you dig “Bad”, as all of these talented individuals are on our list of artists to watch in 2017.

[Music Video] Hitchhiker – Ding Dong

Hitchhiker
Ding Dong – from XOXO the Netflix Original Film

It’s not everyday you get to hear a song by an intergalactic producer. The artist from Korea, who goes by the name of Hitchhiker, released a music video to “Ding Dong” which was featured in the Netflix show XOXO. We’ve seen some bizarre music videos, but this one by far takes the cake.

The video shows Hitchhiker, who is wearing his usual chrome silver jumpsuit outfit, dancing and DJing everywhere in different parts of Korea. The colorful visuals and forced CGI definitely give the tune a unique graphic approach. Hitchhiker is able to take random elements like alien noises, an Egyptian theme, and a doorbell sound and bring them together into one giant entertaining dance track.

Premiered on 88rising, the “Ding Dong” music video is something that will stick in your head for a good period of time. Check out the video below and let us know what you think!
