Louis The Child Talks “Fire”, Pop Music & San Diego [TMN EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW]

Louis The Child
Fire

If you haven’t heard of Louis The Child by now, you must be living under a rock. The LA-based dance-pop duo took the dance music world by storm last year with their hit single “It’s Strange”, which now has over 10 MILLION plays on Soundcloud. Robby and Freddy just recently played CRSSD Fest in San Diego, and we had a chance to briefly catch up with them before their epic “sunset set”. Listen to their new single “Fire” featuring Evalyn and check out the interview after the jump.

TMN: I want to start off by saying welcome to San Diego! And how’d you guys like it here so far? Have you guys been here before?

It’s SO PRETTY here. The festival is right by the water, it’s awesome. We’ve played at Bang Bang last year or so, also played at UCSD. Other than that, we haven’t really been here much.

TMN: Actually, I saw your Snapchat story yesterday, where you teamed up with UberEATS to deliver goodie bags to people. Can you tell us a little bit about that?

We delivered these goodie bags to like three people. They had to order them and they didn’t know it was going to be us delivering to them, and they were all pretty excited to meet us. They all knew who we are. And on top of that, I mean – we gave them all free tickets to CRSSD haha.

[Electronic] W I S H I W A S – I Want To Believe (Ft. Cameron Walker)

W I S H I W A S
I WANT TO BELIEVE (Ft. Cameron Walker)

Following the success of “We’re Better Than This” and “Cutting Ties”, LA-based producer Wish I Was is back again with another collaboration with singer Cameron Walker, and this might just be their best work yet.

“I Want To Believe” is like The Postal Service meets EDM. A delightful piano melody starts off the tune together with Cameron’s alt-pop vocals. The chorus features a dance beat and sliced up vocal synths, providing an infectious melody perfect for a love song. A series of robotic Daft Punk-like vocals follows and shows the level of production going into the vocal work.

Wish I Was is hitting a home run with this latest release. If you dig his stuff, make sure to check out his On My Mind album released earlier this year.

J. F. July – Found (Model 86 Remix) [TMN PREMIERE]

J. F. July
Found (Model 86 Remix)

J. F. July‘s debut single “Found” just got remixed by Model 86, and it is some of the most tasteful electronic music we’ve heard in a while. In between July’s smooth vocals and the mellowness of the original track, fellow UK producer Model 86 manages to squeeze in his distinctive production style and turn it up a couple notches.

The wavy arpeggio-driven style is reminiscent of the Flume sound, and the incorporation with crafty samples just makes it twice as catchy. For a producer who is no stranger to experimenting with new sounds, Model 86 is knocking this one out of the ball park. This genre-bending remix will definitely make some waves in the electronic music community, especially in the UK scene.

If you’re feeling this fresh tune as much as we do, make sure to give these guys a follow. You don’t want to miss out on this dream UK connection.

Show You (ft. Alisa Nappa)

Following the success of Falls Like Rain EP, French producer Fytch is back at it with a fresh new track off his upcoming Show Me EP. “Show You” once again features the lovely vocals by Alisa Nappa. Contrasting to their previous collaboration “Over Your Head”, the EP title track has toned down the bass a few notches and embodies a downtempo vibe. Alisa’s fluid vocals takes the track on a smooth sail, which will leave you vibin’ from beginning to end.

Fytch has proven once again just how versatile yet unique his music is. His recent work has helped set the bar high for bass music, and we cannot wait ’til the full EP comes out this Friday.

[Festival Preview] CRSSD Returns & Releases BitTorrent Content Bundle

On October 1 and 2, the best music festival in San Diego is returning to the Waterfront Park for the fourth time. Can’t believe it’s been two full years since CRSSD Fest made its debut. This year’s lineup features a handful of returners, as well as some of the hottest electronic artists in the game right now.

Headlining this year’s festival, we have Sweden’s very own Miike Snow, who made an epic comeback following their new album. ZHU, who is absolutely crushing it with his new album Generationwhy, and will be bringing sexy back as he’s making his second appearance at CRSSD. Also Lido, who is making waves with a series of album teasers following a live album debut at Coachella. We are almost certain that he will play unreleased material off his new album, which will come out a few days after CRSSD. We simply can’t contain our excitement as artists like Ta-Ku, Louis The Child, Malaa, REZZ, MNEK and FKJ are all making their first debut. It’s safe to say this year’s lineup is the best to date – it’s house music galore and then some.
