[Pop] Imad Royal – Bad 4 U

Bad 4 U

Every time Imad Royal releases a song, the ninjas are ready with open ears. As an artist he has developed like few others, originally making trapstyle beats and now being a full-blown hybrid, pop master. He pays homage to the underground, yet most of his songs aren’t that far off, if at all, from radio hits.

Now, he adds another memorable single to his amazing catalog with “Bad 4 U.” Each time out, his take on pop is extraordinary. He has his own style, yet it’s not just the same thing every time. With “Bad 4 U,” he has an alluring, catchy instrumental that lays the basis for a record that is guaranteed to get stuck in your head. The vocals on this track are tremendous, which, at this point, should be no surprise coming from Imad. It’s tough to say that a song may be an artist’s best one when the artist is as good as Imad Royal, but with this single he may indeed have a new reigning song. “Bad 4 U” is currently available thanks to Nice Life Recordings, so hit up iTunes to get the single.

Down For Whatever Ft. Pell (Bronze Whale Remix)

It must have been a minute since we’ve heard anything new from Bronze Whale, but we can assure you that when they pop up in our feed, we’re listening. The guys’ latest work comes in the form of a remix of Imad Royal’s sensual track “Down For Whatever,” and it marks an interesting and pleasant deviation from the Austin duo’s normal routine.

If you’re familiar with Bronze Whale, this remix is probably going to catch you a bit off guard. As they distance themselves from their signature coalescing of future and trap-esque influence, they electrify the original with a new zest. Their production proves flawless as their unique sound surrounds and bolsters Royal’s smooth vocals, prompting listeners to zone in on both the original’s detail as well as the crisp new details of the remix.

Selfish

Imad Royal is one of those dynamic artists that are hard to come by. He started out with minimal underground productions and has grown into an artist that has been able to fuse the commercial with the underground. He hops between styles without strain, moving from trap to pop with no issues. Just take his latest original, “Selfish,” that sees the DC producer bringing another radio-friendly jam to the table that has all the merit you could ask for in a record.

“Selfish” was produced by Imad Royal and Brenton Duvall, with the former performing the vocals on the track as well, which has now become a traditional element in Imad’s creative process. Because of the minimal style of Imad, his records tend to be ones that are easily memorable, and this one is no different, especially with these lyrics. With “Selfish” comes the promise for even more music with the artist declaring we can expect much more soon. We’re certainly not mad about that, and I don’t think you will be either.

[Electronic] Imad Royal – Vagabond

Vagabond

“Vagabond” may just be our favorite Imad Royal track. Imad is someone who has managed to weave mainstream appeal into his records that remain true to his own underground style. His crossover capacity is unrivaled by most, which is why he’s one of the hottest producers at the moment. His tasteful creative abilities result in intimate records like “Vagabond” that are pure fire. Nothing is ever over-the-top, he keeps his ideas focused and his productions crisp.

Another great thing about Imad Royal is he sings. He doesn’t need much outside help to put a record together, although this one was co-written/produced by New York’s Michael Keenan. “Vagabond” is currently available exclusively through stream, so this has us wondering if we can expect an EP/LP on the horizon. Only time will tell, but we have no problem throwing this one on repeat for days.

Down For Whatever ft. Pell

Imad Royal and Pell are both at a turning point in their respective careers. “Down For Whatever” marks the second single of Imad Royal’s on the Nice Life label, and Pell is following up his widely praised album, LIMBO. There’s no shying away from the straightforward message on this tune, and these two are steadfast in their ways amidst an airtight assembly of pop, R&B, and hip-hop influence.

A song like this certainly marks a deviation from the usual sound of Imad Royal, even from his previous effort, but it’s a seamless transition for this multi-faceted artist. Having Pell come along to bring the track home with his rapid-fire delivery is just the icing on the cake. Imad Royal’s fairly recent name change also came with a shift in style, and it’s immediately evident that he refuses to take any shortcuts to showcase exactly what he strives for and cares about in his music. 2016 may have just begun, but, however bold of a claim this may seem, you’re already hearing an early contender for a top release of the year. There’s an undeniable catchiness and magnetic attitude throughout “Down For Whatever,” and it’s a sound that’s here to stay. Give it up for this dynamic duo and be sure to show them support in every way you can!

Troubles

With a recent signing to Nice Life, Imad Royal, formerly known as Royal, knows exactly what he wants to accomplish. “Troubles” is the second original that followed up his impressive Cycles project from the beginning of this year, and the tune bolsters his trademark mesh of pop and electronic into a short, but sweet package. Stuttering and strong synths sliver beside his massive drum work, which you may notice is similar to his side project with SoySauce, and his foray in utilizing his own vocals has become one of the most prominent features of his releases. Imad Royal continues to intrigue, and his journey with Nice Life is set to be exceptional.

His sights are set on the future, his loyalty goes unquestioned, and he prides himself on his friends and the accomplishments they’ve managed to capitalize on together in his lyrics on “Troubles.” It makes a lot of sense, as he has worked with quite a few auspicious artists up to this point in his career, and has even been involved in producing a Panic! At The Disco song. Needless to say, 2015 has been Imad Royal’s year, and “Troubles” gives us a thrilling glimpse into this new chapter that he’s opening up.
