[Electronic] Ruchir – Chicas (Silcrow Remix) ft. BUTO

Ruchir
Chicas (Silcrow Remix) Ft. BUTO

At a first glance, the Soundcloud page of Silcrow seems like nothing much. With only 56 followers and one remix, there is little reason to see this guy as anything more than a classic wannabe producer. But let me tell you something, after listening to that one remix of Ruchir’s “Chicas”, I am convinced that this guy is gonna be playing festivals by the end of this year.

While the original version of the song has a minimal, chill, trappy vibe to it, Silcrow’s rendition is the complete opposite. The entire remix is a complete 3 minutes and 29 seconds of fast-paced, absolutely banging sounds. Hard-hitting synths and drums are only the half of it. What I really love about this track is how professional the production on it sounds. Despite so much going on throughout the remix, Silcrow manages to keep everything sounding flawless. I’m beyond excited to see what else this guy has in store for this year. Be sure to grab a free download of this incredible track!

Nowadays (Snugs Remix)

Nothing makes my day more than when I come across new, groundbreaking artists, so when I first listened to this remix by Snugs, I couldn’t help but smile. With only four tracks out on Soundcloud, this act has managed to garner over 400k plays, and it’s pretty easy to see why.

This remix holds onto all the great aspects of the original song, while also changing certain things in the best ways possible. With smooth synths, wild vocal chops, and groovy drums, the ingenuity of this track is next level. I’m so happy I found these guys on my Soundcloud feed because they’re definitely going places.

Oh, and if you’re not grabbing a free download of this right now, I don’t know what you’re doing.

Light Your Ass On Fire (Nick Evol Remix)*Free Download*

“Light Your Ass On Fire” was the major collaboration between Busta Rhymes and Pharrell from 2003. Now in 2018, instead of jamming out to the hip-hop original, we’re getting down and dirty with the electro version thanks to Nick Evol.

The dojo welcomes Nick yet again for another premiere, this time of his dark, energetic cut of the aforementioned hit. In keeping with an electro inspired sound, Nick further establishes himself in the bass scene as a unique tangent to the sounds of Rezz and her forerunners. With this take he keeps his sharp industrial edge which we have come to love. With subtle hints of the original hi-hop beat, the blend of genres is riveting. Lastly, Nick Evol dropped this one as a free download!

Bad Tattoo (ZAXX Remix)

If you’re an up and coming vocalist, picking the right producer for a remix is crucial. Franke did the right thing and tapped ZAXX for a flip that is going to blow you away like it did us.

You know when you have a great song, then you get to the end and something just comes in and wrecks your mind in the best way possible? That’s exactly what happens here. ZAXX made all the right moves from start to finish on this record and it shows in the result. “Bad Tattoo” went from a catchy, poppy hip-hop hit to an unforgettable bass track that could be two songs in one if ZAXX wanted to split things up, but he trusted his gut for this next level take.

Aymo Feat. Talib Kweli (Sidecar Tommy Remix)

Today marks the release of the Aymo Remixes pack from Balkan Bump. The Talib Kweli collaboration is one of the most unique tracks of the year, showcasing the trumpet enthusiast’s signature sound.

The Oakland creative Sidecar Tommy took on that very track and flipped it into his own special treasure, one that we’re cherishing right along side you in its premiere here. His take is a bit more glitchy and bass-driven than the original, making it the ultimate energetic counterpart. You’re hearing it first here in the dojo and after you enjoy Sidecar Tommy’s take, go on ahead and check out the full EP.

Snap Yo Fingers (Birthdayy Partyy Remix)

It seems as though Birthdayy Partyy have an unlimited cache of quality remixes. Their latest calls for more than just snapping your fingers, it needs your whole body. That’s right, we’re talking “Snap Yo Fingers” by Lil Jon, the 2006 classic.

When Birthdayy Partyy drop something, it’s hard to guess where they’re gonna go. You’d think with this hip-hop hit they’d go trap, but to our surprise they went all out with a bassy G-house production. It’s not what you’d expect, but it blows you out of the water with its vivid grooves. Leave it to these twins to knock your socks off. And as usual, they released this one as a free download.

Nine Inch Nails – Closer (Nick Evol Remix) [TMN Premiere]

Nine Inch Nails
Closer (Nick Evol Remix)

With festival season upon us, producers are bringing out the big remixes/edits. Most are aiming at current pop or R&B hits, but Nick Evol took a different approach with his remix. He brought back a classic from Nine Inch Nails and transformed it into an industrial electro delicacy.

The dark sound of the re-imagined “Closer” must have been inspired by the likes of Rezz, but Nick’s own sound is unique from his influences. He takes them a step further and in a different direction, capitalizing on his singularity instead of simply treating this as a knock-off remix. This is just the flip out of left field that we’ve been looking for and doing justice to NIN is not an easy thing, but Nick pulled this one off nicely. We’re happy to premiere it to you today, along with the opportunity for you to download it for free!
