[Electronic] David Heartbreak – Skyline EP

David Heartbreak is one of the premiere dance music producers, period. He helped push moombahton to its height, pioneered the EDM trap revolution and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. He’s a true songwriter that isn’t afraid of changing things up. Now, he’s back in full force.

I took a year off from music, I had some personal things going on, and I needed a break from music

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from David, but he returns with his Skyline EP, out now on Uprise Music. We were unsure what direction David was going to take, given his diverse catalog, but with the two single project he brought some full on emotional vibes. The title EP is a highly melodic, ambient single that can best be described as David’s take on future meets trip-hop. It’s one of those records that will put a spell on you, one that is hard to break. For the second track, “Jux,” David partners with Cy Kosis for a unique trap single that is as dynamic as it is dope. There are more than a handful of records that David has put out that will blow your mind, and this is up there with his best.

The inspiration behind skyline is New York City. Skyline was written in an Uber on the FDR drive. I just had a lot running through my mind, and it skyline just was perfect for where I was at, at that time.

You can feel the emotion in these two singles. After dealing with his personal issues and moving back to his city, David is ready to continue making his mark on the world. It’s certainly a mark that we miss. Here’s to you David, glad to have you back!

Storm (feat. Desiree Dawson)

If you’re looking for a great label that releases exclusively dope records, Uprise Music is one you need on your list. Several days ago, the New York imprint released a single called “Storm” that quickly has become a go-to song in the dojo that us ninjas can’t get enough of. We’re thinking you’re going to join our enthusiasm for it.

“Storm” is an original work by the Brazilian producer I.Y.F.F.E and the vocalist Desiree Dawson. Future bass is a genre that can be stale really easily, but I.Y.F.F.E breathes life into the genre with a straight jam that has incredible emotional phases, and ones with some grooving energy. Desiree’s voice graces an already delectable instrumental that put would put a lot of quality producers to shame. Grab your copy of “Storm” today through the store of your choice by heading to the song’s download page.

[Electro/Big Room] Kid Kamillion – Bad Mouth (feat. Jesse Slayter)

Bad Mouth (feat. Jesse Slayter)

Kid Kamillion, the New Orleans native who you might recognize from releases from Boysnoize Records and Mad Decent, brought big room some merit by partnering up with Jesse Slayter. It’s been a while since the sub-genre term has been thrown around, for good reason, but we had to bring it back because of “Bad Mouth,” an explosive house track that has a ton of drive behind it. You would have expected that Uprise Music would push this in the Summer, but instead they waited until everyone else was done pushing festival tracks. Now, it gets to live on its own as a behemoth. As many epic tracks of similar style, this one does have a trap breakdown near the end for all you hoodrats out there!
