[Future] Sweater Beats – Did You Wrong (Feat. Max)

SWEATER BEATS
Did You Wrong ft. MAX

With a very extensive winter tour gearing up this week and a plethora of new tunes released this year, Sweater Beats is giving fans plenty of reasons to turn out and catch him this season. Antonio Cuna, who made his big splash in the internet community with a remix to Flume’s “Drop the Game” in 2014, has built a fairly large international fan base in the years since.

The LA based producer expanded his skill set from unique remixes and edits to original works of his own, leading to a substantial and consistent internet buzz. As if we needed another reason to cover his budding career, Sweater Beats just released an incredible new track with vocalist Max titled “Did You Wrong”. The song blends the fresh and talented crooning of Max with the ingredients that we have come to expect from one of our favorite technically savvy producers.

Listeners will get ample opportunities to catch some of the aesthetic visionary in person, as he embarks on a 31-stop tour beginning this Thursday in San Francisco. As an added bonus, Cuna will be revealing a live set during the “For the Cold” tour, replacing the DJ sets of his previous performances. Catch Sweater Beats in your city this winter here, and stay up to date on his latest releases over at Soundcloud.

[Future] Alesso – Cool (Feat. Roy English) (Sweater Beats Remix)

Alesso
Cool ft. Roy English (Sweater Beats Remix)

“Cool” is just the latest chart-topping single from Swedish hit factory, Alesso. The progressive tune has inspired some pretty rad remixes so far, the most recent of which comes from Sweater Beats. Preserving much of the bravado of the original, this new rendition brings with it a new definition of “Cool,” incorporating a much smoother sound that embeds an added sense of passion in the vocals. Only a stream for now, but look for this remix–along with a few others–to drop on April 10th.

[Future] Kimbra – Settle Down (Sweater Beats Remix)

Kimbra
Settle Down (Sweater Beats Redux)

Sweater Beats took to social media this morning to drop off a brand new remix closing out what could not have been a better year for the young NYC-based producer. Taking on Kimbra‘s “Settle Down,” Sweater Beats displays his impressive bass-driven, R&B-influenced style to perfection. By leaving the vocals from the original in tact, he manages to build a dynamic, constantly evolving re-imagination of the original without taking away from Kimbra’s powerful voice. Give this one a listen above and make sure to check out Sweater Beat’s Cloud City EP if you haven’t already. 2015 is going to be a huge year for SB, and the Huh, What & Where collective more broadly.

[Electronic] Sweater Beats – Dark Matter (feat. Allie)

SWEATER BEATS
Dark Matter ft. Allie

Brooklyn-based producer Sweater Beats specializes in making music for the bedroom, and this collaboration with singer Allie further accentuates his establishment as a babymaking music powerhouse. Showing us a sneak peek of his upcoming Cloud City album, Sweater Beats released this track titled “Dark Matter”, and it’s everything we expected and more. It starts off with this soft trap beat with these synth waves, Allie’s vocals blend right into the complexity of this tune. Allie’s dual vocals and these strong piano chords are the spotlights of the song. The melody of the piano shines throughout the tune, and when it ends you can’t help but want more.

With the album dropping Oct 28 on HW&W Recordings, we’re super excited to see what Sweater Beats has to offer.

Sunday Night Soul (On a Monday) [Vol. 12]

Now that Super Bowl XLVIII is over and done with, Sunday’s are going to be a little less eventful for quite awhile. Luckily for you, you have Sunday Night Soul to look forward to in its absence. Yes, before we begin, we know it’s Monday. We apologize for the delay folks, but that game really drained us out (read: put us to sleep). As a fan who’s had his heart broken multiple times over, I sympathize with all the Broncos fans out there tonight. My only hope is that this week’s serving of soul can be the first step towards recovery for all of you (including many of my fellow ninjas).

This week’s edition is packed with plenty of surprises: with collaborations between Cashmere Cat and Ludacris, unlikely mashups of Justin Timberlake and Dpat, a spectacular cover of “Hold On, We’re Going Home” by Vancouver Sleep Clinic and GXNVXS, and a SevnthWonder trifecta, there’s plenty of treasure tucked away deep in tonight’s set. This may also be the best lineup we’ve ever assembled in terms of debuts. Twin Caverns, Niykee Heaton, Ego Ella May, Adna, Clare Maguire, Maurice, bizZarh, Rook Milo, Black Atlass, Neo Safari, Moody Good♡ EMOJI KING ♡ and i.o. all make worthy additions to the Sunday Night Soul family. Our veterans meanwhile seemed to have doubled their efforts this week, with MadeauxΔGØLDWYN , Fortune, Duncan Gerow, abstract youth and SevnthWonder all making multiple appearances. This is one of those weeks where we wish we could highlight each song individually, but unfortunately there isn’t enough time for that. Instead, we’ll leave the judgments up to you (although we’re fairly certain you’ll enjoy each and every single one of them).
