[Electronic] Porter Robinson Feat. Urban Cone – Lionhearted (Point Point Remix)

It’s that dreaded day of the week again, dare we say it, Monday. But, why not make the best of this Monday and forget about the awful stigma that haunts it? We know that may seem slightly impossible, after all, it commences yet another hectic work week, but maybe it’s time to embrace these “horrid” Mondays. So what is a reliable tactic to transform those morning commutes that feel like you’re driving towards your deathbed into a commute towards your birthday party? Music.

Only a few days ago, Point Point hit the public with a new one, a remix of Porter Robinson’s “Lionhearted” featuring the vocals of Urban Cone. Only seconds after pressing play, smiles started to appear on our faces. Steering in a different direction from their usual steamy sound with drawn-out synths, which you may have heard in their ‘Contrastive Focus Reduplication‘ EP or their recent remix of Gallant’sWeight In Gold,” they speed up the tempo with a brighter tone.

More affective than a cup of coffee with an extra shot of espresso, Point Point’s remix stimulates the senses with a hair-raising melody and enlivening rhythm. But, to be completely honest, it’s pretty difficult to describe just how incredible the production and synth work is; take our word for it. Only way you’re going to find out is giving this one a listen. Be careful though, it may cause uncontrollable dancing and smiling.

Charlie Puth x Kehlani (DATHAN Flip)

Check out this bootleg of “Hotline Bling” by the talented DATHAN. The bay area-based producer takes a stab at Charlie Puth and Kehlani‘s cover of the track, and totally elevated it into a fun and upbeat version. It’s always interesting seeing the evolution and different takes on the Drizzy track, as it goes from the original cha cha remix, to Charlie and Kehlani’s emotional cover, and now to this chill trap hotness. With the use of heavy synths and discrete vocal samples, Dathan’s flip is as good as it gets. It’s the perfect dance track to show your friends if they’re looking for some variation of the popular original.

Dathan is definitely coming out with more stuff in the near future, so stay tuned til his next feature.

You ever listen to a song and instantly go “woah this is amazing”? For us, this is one of those tracks. London-based producer Chris Loco has teamed up with singer/songwriter Raye for this epic track titled “Ego”, and it’s jaw-droppingly beautiful.

The slow and suspenseful trap beat is paired with Raye’s powerful vocals, which echoes throughout the whole song to create an ominous yet dramatic effect. A series of horn stabs and eerie distorted synths are used to further bring out the story behind the cinematic approach of the track. It’s almost like watching a movie that’s so good you feel like you’re living it.

The good news is that the official music video is coming out sooner than you think (shhh), and “Ego” is going to be one of four tracks under Loco’s upcoming See No Evil EP, set to be released this fall. We can’t wait for more dope songs/teasers to come from the mysterious producer.

His newest track is this remix of Hitmane‘s “Over U”, which perfectly exhibits Chet’s skill set as a producer. The chill trap beat brings out the exuberant melodies, and the crafty samples taking the catchy drops to a whole other level. Chet incorporates his signature harp-like synth in the breakdown, resulting in intricate melodies that will leave you vibing.
