[House] Cages – Listening

Cages
Listening

Ultra Records recently pushed out a record called “Listening” from an anonymous act called Cages. Upon hearing the single, we immediately were at attention, ready for more of what the unknown creator has to offer.

With Cages, we get no gimmicks or anything, just good music. “Listening” is a poppy, deep house single whose lyrics and grooves are equally contagious. From running through the act’s Soundcloud, we see they are accustomed to putting together memorable music. “Listening” stands out above the rest, showing us that they keep getting better and better. They’ve also gone a slightly different route with this new single, and we’re glad they did, because the result is magnificent. What has us highly interested, besides the music, is what we found in the press release. Read it below, and from the lips of Cages, more music is coming.

CAGES.
YES THIS IS A SIDE PROJECT.
NO THE PERSON IN THE IMAGE IS NOT US.
YES WE WILL TOUR AT SOME POINT.
NO WE DONT LIVE IN THE SAME COUNTRY.
RIP HARAMBE.
YES NEW MUSIC IS COMING.
MUSIC SHOULDN’T BE PUT IN CAGES.

[Electronic] Fareoh – Illegal

Fareoh
Illegal

Fareoh always manages to keep his work fresh and exciting. How he does it, we can’t be too sure, but what we can do is appreciate every time he releases a record. His most recent is fabulous, and it’s called “Illegal.”

Let’s face it, every one loves something that is illegal. Now it may not be technically illegal, it can still be out of our reach. Fareoh describes this track as the feeling you get when you find yourself in that situation. We’ve all been there, and we’d have to agree with the sonic representation. Not only do we agree, but we love just what he’s done with “Illegal.” Not only that, but Katelyn Tarver just crushed it with her vocal performance on this single. It’s an all around sweet record. There’s no surprise that Ultra Records got behind this one. Stream or purchase it today!

[House] filous & MOUNT – Emelie feat. Buster Moe

Emelie feat. Buster Moe

What did you do by the time you were eighteen? Did you reach #1 on Hypem like filous? Probably not, but not everyone can be Matthias Oldofredi. After a year long break from releasing originals, filous is back with yet another collaboration with the Austrian producer MOUNT, as well as Buster Moe. Ultra Records backed “Emelie” and dropped it on the world last week.

“Emelie” is an acoustically driven house single that doesn’t really sound like electronic music at all. With performances shifting towards the live realm as opposed to Djing, it’s no wonder trailblazers like filous are making that shift with their productions as well. This single is one that could easily be played out live, but fans can enjoy it still if a DJ played it on the decks. filous, MOUNT and Buster Moe came together to give fans something different, and each of their talents shine. Buster’s vocal is something to be treasured. With filous back, the rest of the year and the next can be incredible as far as dance music is concerned. Stay tuned for what’s to come, but in the mean time, get a hold of “Emelie” today.

Flosstradamus, FKi 1st & graves
Came Up feat. Post Malone & Key!

What happens when you put Flosstradamus, graves and Post Malone together? We can’t be exactly sure, but when FKi and Key are thrown into the mix as well, you get “Came Up.” Ultra Records released this single today, and it is set to be one of the biggest records of the Summer.

Flosstradamus move away from their usual trap style and bring some future sounds into the mix. From the producer side of things, “Came Up” is interesting because you can hear the contributions from each party. Obviously with the vocal route, that’s more obvious. With that side, we get a more R&B meets hip-hop style that has been plaguing the radio within the past year. “Came Up” is only partly what you may have expected, but any expectations you had about songwriting quality surely will be blown away. They really did a nice job with this one, making it a familiar, yet unique single that is accessible to both the mainstream and the underground. As we mentioned earlier, this single dropped today, so if you would like to get a copy, head over to iTunes.

[House] Klingande – Losing U (Feat. Daylight)

Losing U (Feat Daylight)

Ultra Records got their hands on a cool record with “Losing U” by Klingande. Ultra is known for releasing some big dance records that are more of the festival style, but Klingande and Daylight bring with them a softer sound with pop undertones and acoustic sensibilities. The build up and drop both center around a violin melody that you’re not going to here often in dance music. It’s nice to get that change of pace with someone who is willing to step outside the norm and bring that non-electronic touch to dance music. “Losing U” is an uplifting original that proves to fans that Klingande is back for good, as he was previously on a bit of a hiatus. Fans weren’t disappointed, and we weren’t either. Get your copy at your preferred digital store by heading through this link. Stay tuned for more from the French producer in the coming months.

Gangsta Walk feat. Nate Dogg

I don’t think the late great Nate Dogg ever imagined one of his unreleased acapellas would be used for a house record, especially of the sort that SNBRN cooks up. “Gangsta Walk” is the result of SNBRN getting his hands on a special vocal that producers around the world would probably give their right arm for. Although this original is of the deep house style, SNBRN keeps things extremely upbeat and lively which we’ve come to observe in many of his “sunset house” tracks. With SNBRN adding natural elements to his track, including the horns and the unforgettable piano, this track’s dynamic capacity is like few other dance records out right now from up and coming prodigies. “Gangsta Walk” was released by Ultra Records a few days ago, and since it’s already amassed tons of love from hip-hop heads and ravers alike. Shake That [OUT TOMORROW]

Tommie Sunshine and Halfway House have already provided the world with memorable records like “Give Up The Funk,” “Blue Screen of Death,” as well as others. Today, they are here with a brand new single called “Shake That.” Due out tomorrow on Ultra Records, the two acts continue the stream of festival ready house tracks; only, this time around they enlist the talents of DJ Funk.

In the past these acts have implemented dembow in their works, and the intro of this song has received the same treatment. They build up into a vocal breakdown that brings the anticipation up even further until a climactic drop that will blow the roof off the establishment. A hard bass hits and is subsequently taken over by some wonky synths that make for a fun listen. “Shake That” is another benchmark in each of these acts careers, and if you’d like to get it for yourself, you’ll just have to check back tomorrow for the opportunity!
