[Electronic] Khalid & Normani – Love Lies (Medasin Remix)

Khalid & Normani
Love Lies (Medasin Remix)

The Khalid approved remix of “Love Lies” by Medasin has been released on Soundcloud. If you were looking for a major flip with just the right vibe to kick it over Summer, then you’ve found it here.

Medasin is following up from his flip of Post Malone. The two remixes share a somewhat similar sound, but the new take of the Khalid x Normani collaboration is a bit chiller with some more groove. It’s not always that a remix reaches the original artist and then they co-sign it, but that’s just what we’ve got with this hit. As good as this one is and as much as we’d like to rinse it for months to come, expect to hear more from Medasin soon!

With rain coming down in SF, this week’s episode came together just at the right time. After a multiple year hiatus, The Music Ninja’s weekly Sunday Night Soul returned last weekend. To celebrate, I had Ninja Baseer put together the first couple segments with a mix of soulful, forward-leaning R&B tunes. After touching on the dissociative pysch rock of Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s latest album, the remainder of the show was dedicated to hazy, lo-fi house. Anchored by a selection Ross From Friends stellar Brainfeeder debut, the last hour hits right in the late night feels.

[Trap/Future] DJ MUSTARD – DON’T BOX ME Vol. 1

DJ Mustard is well known for his memorable hip-hop beats, but that’s not all he’s capable of. It’s pretty obvious given his name that he can DJ, but as far as producing goes, DJ Mustard isn’t just here to make hip-hop. In fact, today we’re sharing with you a remix EP that sees him diving into electronic music.

In all honesty, once you produce hip-hop, making the switch to dance music isn’t all that hard, but writing great electronic music isn’t easy. With DON’T BOX ME Vol. 1, DJ Mustard did just that though with three remixes of tracks by Lil Uzi Vert, Childish Gambino and Khalid. With hints of trap and future, these tracks are anything but your usual DJ Mustard sounds. Stream them today and if you get a chance to check out DJ Mustard live, do it. In all likelihood you’ll be hearing these jams IRL!
