[Event] Get Ready For Emerald Cup 2017 With The Roots, Gramatik, Chali 2na & More!

On December 9th and 10th, Sonoma County is going to be getting lifted. How you might ask? Well, the fourteenth annual Emerald Cup is taking over the Sonoma County Fairgrounds with workshops, speakers, glass artists – and most importantly for us ninjas, musical artists. The festival just announced phase one of their lineup and so far it’s top-shelf.

While you’re going green at the cup you can enjoy live performances by artists including The Roots, Gramatik, Chali 2na, Hieroglyphics and Pimps of Joytime. That’s just what’s been announced as they have more openers AND headliners on the way. It’s already an event you won’t want to miss out on and we don’t even have all the lineup information. Nightmare Festival is just around the corner. October 27th through the 29th will see the Halloween music and arts festival take over Camp Ramblewood in Maryland. The unique festival is not only taking over Camp Ramblewood, but they’ve just took over the dojo!

Our Dojo Takeover Spotify playlist has just been revamped with tracks from artists you’ll be seeing at the festival. The good people over at Manifesto are continuing with their Spotify playlist series called Eyes On. They just kicked off the series recently with Cosmo’s Midnight curating the launch and now the label is back with Sachi. The Auckland duo deliver a 48 song playlist coming in at just over two and a half hours, so there’s plenty of music to take with you for the weekend. The more music, the merrier. The independent record label Manifesto does so much more than just be an imprint for artists. They’re a true tastemaking collectives showcasing their own works, as well as numerous others from artists all across the world, whether they’re on the roster or not.

One of the ways they share their music is through Spotify playlists and they’ve got some incredible ones. Most recently they’ve started highlighting artists who curate their own playlist on the account. Their Eye’s On series has just had Cosmo’s Midnight who took a crack at curating the very first installment.

[Announcement] The Music Ninja Spotify Dojo Has Launched!

Over the past couple of years, Spotify has cemented themselves as the premiere place for music streaming. We strive to be one of the premiere places on the web, but we felt it was time to branch out a bit. So, we went ahead and put together The Music Ninja Spotify account.

Don’t worry, we’re not going anywhere. You can still catch what we have to share on the website, however the dojo has grown and we want to offer you even more music. We’ve already created thirteen playlists for you to enjoy, with music ranging from future bass, to dubstep, to pop, trap, rock and even moombahton. We’ll continuously be updating each playlist, as well as creating more. Some of our current playlists include Back That Bass Up, House, Sweet House and Pretty Poppin’.

We want to thank you all for your continued support of the ninjas. We wouldn’t still be sharing music if there was nobody to share it with! In 2017, we’re looking to do some big things for you all. A week after Lido previewed this remix on his Diplo & Friends Mix, Alt-J has let loose the Norwegian producer’s much anticipated take on their infectious single, “Left Hand Free.” We’ve come to expect the unexpected from Lido at this point and, on this one, he relaxes the upbeat original to kick things off allowing Alt-J’s vocals to shine over a minimalistic background. Around the 1:45 mark, Lido breaks the tension with his signature big-room breakdown accompanied with vocoder melodies.

This one was released exclusively via Spotify and comes a day after Lido’s I Love You Too, the impressive remix EP of his debut project featuring a number of fellow up ‘n comers. If you’re anything like us, you’ll have this one on repeat all day.
