[Future Bass] Magnifico & Taptone – Sonata

Magnifico & Taptone
Sonata

Future bass meets dance, meets instrumentals, meets bouncy synths; Magnifico and Taptone’s “Sonata” released on Lowly Palace, has taken a bit everything and melded it together into a dramatic production that we’re 100% on board with.

Upon pressing play the track builds into a climactic drop laden with the all familiar sound of trumpets, an instrument that adds a positive flair in so many great productions. This infectious track delves into an unexpected moment of a smoother melody where, yet again, an instrumental is featured, this time luscious piano chords slowing everything down before reviving into the upbeat dance track. The back and forth between this fluttering heartbeat of a track leaves us feeling satisfied but ready for more. Ups and downs may be hard in life, but in music they’re a welcome distraction. “Sonata” is available as a free download.

Bit Funk – Off The Ground [TMN VIDEO PREMIERE]

Bit Funk
Off The Ground (ft Shae Jacobs)

We are proud to present a first look at Brooklyn-based Bit Funk‘s music video for his newest single “Off The Ground.” here at TMN this morning.

Call him El Nino– this track is making huge waves in a very short amount of time. The tune has already hit #2 on HypeM and has close to one million plays since its release. The motivating clap track that’s present at the start of the song along with Shae Jacobs’s R&B-driven vocals are a retro electro combo that builds until it drops. The modern electronic sound rushes in with a deep house beat and the commencement of vocal loops, reminding us that this is indeed a club hit. At this point everyone in the crowd is going to be straight boogie-ing. I know we were our first listen. This track’s smooth and well on its way to becoming a dance floor regular.

For some added boogie inspiration, make sure to check out the music video, as well.

[Synth-Pop] Digital Farm Animals – Bad Idea ft. Holly & MNEK

Digital Farm Animals
Digital Farm Animals 'Bad Idea' ft. Holly Partridge & MNEK

London’s Digital Farm Animals has been quite the apple of this publication’s eye, or ear for that matter,  since we had the pleasure of debuting their first single “Adore You” back in July followed by an intimate exclusive interview early last month. It’s safe to say that DFA’s artistic prowess and quality of electronic production has swallowed our psyche, simultaneously placing them on our proverbial list on “One’s to Watch For” in 2014. With their forthcoming EP, which was recorded mainly under the influence of some Down Under inspiration in Australia, Bugged Out, having just been released on August 26, DFA has released their second synth-wave driven, pop laced track “Bad Idea” featuring contributions from Holly & a recent collaborator on Duke Dumont’s smash single “Hold On”, MNEK. DFA’s sophomore public contribution follows a melancholy pop song blueprint conjoined with a moving vocal track which sees both vocalists’ skills intertwining in a product sounding in the same vein as South London’s soul songstress Jessie Ware, before unleashing on a simple, but rhythmically boisterous chorus. We’re certainly excited for more material from Digital Farm Animals as their first two entries into TMN’s life have been primly polished pieces of left-field pop music just brimming with potential, and catchy enough for any style of music consumer. Stream the tune above and have a Happy Monday.
