[Dubstep] Chime – Bring Me Back

Chime has long been one of the most interesting bass producers. With his iconic signature, he’s managed to not only churn out memorable dubstep, but also experiment with new styles and succeed in doing so. With his latest Monstercat release “Bring Me Back” the English creative pushes a new sound he’s deeming “Color Bass.”

And colorful it is! “Bring Me Back” starts off as a unique record showcasing itself as an offshoot of dubstep with wonderfully interesting sounds and melodies. From there Chime evolves the production into a sonic adventure that you need to hear for yourself. Whisking through breaks and frankly some beautiful production, this clean cut crispy hitter is definitely worth a playlist add.

[Dubstep] Chime – Featherweight EP

Why Chime named is EP Featherweight, I have no clue, because this four track project is heavy as f***. Released on Firepower Records, this project is dubstep through and through. If you can’t handle the bass, you better get up outta here.

One thing we’ve always loved about Chime’s sound is the influences he infuses into his work to separate them from the usual batch of bass records that his contemporaries come out with. Chime’s always kept his own style that he’s tweaked over the years. Featherweight is the culmination of that experimentation, mixed with the now common riddim style that has taken over the dubstep genre. You’ve been warned – dive into the bass if you’re ready and add this EP to your digital library.

’Chime – Featherweight’
’Chime & Lost Vegas – Damage’
’Chime – Smokescreen’
’Chime – Missingno’

[Dubstep] Stabby – Blade EP

Oh Stabby, you dirty dirty man. There’s been a lot of great dubstep that has come out this year, but Stabby’s new EP on Buygore, Blade, slices through most everything else with ease and stands above the bloody mess tall and proud. Although he’s been one of the best up and comers, Stabby solidifies himself further in huge way with this EP.

In just three tracks Stabby shows why, without a doubt, he deserves your attention. It’s one of those projects where you really can’t pick a favorite and when you finally do, upon listening through again your change your mind and are left wondering, how can all three of these be so damn good? We don’t know the answer, we can try to talk about what sounds and motifs make up each track, but it’s better if we just let it simmer on your ears. Blade speaks for itself. And it also needs to be added to your library.

’Stabby – First Duel’
’Stabby – Musket’
’Stabby & Chime – Permadeath’

[Dubstep] Panda Eyes & Chime – White Magic

Panda Eyes & Chime
White Magic

We’ve got some “White Magic” to share with you. No, it’s not that kind of white magic, it’s the new single from Panda Eyes and Chime that the pair independently released at the end of January. As you would imagine coming from these two, there’s a whole lot of melody and a whole lot of heavy low frequencies.

“White Magic” draws the perfect line between the lighter, melodic style of dubstep and the in-your-face with bass. The blend makes for a majestic tune, one that is both memorable because of its beauty, as well as its power. Together Panda Eyes and Chime cooked up one of our favorite dubstep tunes of 2018 so far and we hope to see them together again soon.

Enjoy a freebie from the good people at Daily Earfood today. What track is it? The newest single from the melody master himself, Chime. “Starstorm” is the producer’s latest bass adventure that mixes some dark basses with some light and airy synths.

“Starstorm” feels like just that, an intergalactic firestorm. Now, if it were for real you wouldn’t want to catch yourself in the middle of cosmic bodies flying through space, but with this you’re going to want to bask in it as much as you can. Which you can do, as this one is available as a free download, so you can take it with you wherever you go, even when there is no data to stream. Don’t sleep on it.
