[Hip-Hop] THEY. – Motley Crue (Beshken Remix)

THEY.
Motley Crue (Beshken Remix)

When I found this particular “Motley Crue” remix I had to share it, and truth be told, I’m a fan of everything Mind Of A Genius touches. Let me introduce you to Beshken, a rising artist and producer who’s blend of hip hop and electronic sounds are addictive. His rendition of  THEY.’s “Motley Crue” takes the listener on a relaxing sonic journey and I’m truly excited to see what music he has in store for us.

Beshken began producing in 2012 after buying his first 88 key midi keyboard. Previously trained as a rock and jazz guitarist, he first became interested in dance music when DJing house parties in Los Angeles. In late 2015, Beshken moved to New York City to study music at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at NYU; this shift shaped both his view on the culture of electronic music and sonic experimentation. With support from Next Wave Records, Majestic Casual, and more, Beshken is just getting started. Also be sure to check out his Closed Doors EP when you get the chance.

Know You Well (feat. Mothica and Mayo)

Following “Right Time”, Beshken comes out with yet another fresh original that’ll get you vibing. “Know You Well” is the result of his collaboration with singer Mothica and rapper Mayo. The LA producer fuses his signature chill sound with Mothica’s smooth vocals to bring out the downtempo vibe of the track. Mayo’s verse also serves its purpose to perfectly complement the addicting beat. Whether you’re working for a late night grind, or cruising down the freeway on a Friday night, this tune will be your best company.

Released under Next Wave Records, “Know You Well” showcases Beshken’s talent as a producer. As these originals keep getting better and better, we simply can’t wait to see what the young producer has to offer.

Oh, Chris Brown. What happened to you? “Kiss Kiss” is undeniably one of his biggest jams (You know it. Don’t lie.) and Beshken decided to revamp it in celebration of ten thousand SoundCloud followers with the help of newcomer Guestroom. This edit really is just a fun follow up to his latest original, “Hiro,” and makes for a great addition to your weekend playlist. It’s exciting to see Beshken slowly gaining notoriety with his fresh new sound, and being a part of the Next Wave roster is a big move that’s doing extremely well for him. [Future] Beshken – Hiro

Hiro

There’s an interesting, almost cinematic approach in this new original Beshken tune. The chopped and panned vocals flutter along beside a cacophony of other sounds until it resolves into a lush and textured rhythm with pounding drums and a blanket of warm synths. Besh’s work is never short of emotive elements, and his shift from futuristic, hip-hop remixes to his own songs has shown quite a bit of growth for him in recent months.

The Next Wave artist is hitting a formative point in his musical journey and “Hiro,” which is defined as “generous and tolerant” in Japanese, is evident of his changing approach to the material he is putting out. This track will hold us over nicely while his upcoming EP is in the works, and it’s even available for free download here. Beshken and Next Wave are setting up a big 2015 so far, and “Hiro” is just the tip of the iceberg.

This one will honestly have you melting away until you think you’re on a new planet. Beshken is one of the signature staples on the up-and-coming Next Wave collective and he’s making major waves with his ethereal production skills, as showcased here on “Right Time”. Enlisting the sultry vocals of Soraya, this one is sure to strike a chord in your heartstrings. If Ryan Hemsworth and Amy Winehouse had a child, it would be this song.
