[UK Garage] M.O – Preach (Sean Glass Remix)

M.O Preach (Sean Glass Remix)

Mondays are never easy, but when you have good music, the week doesn’t look so bleak anymore. Lucky for you, ninjas, we got a good one for you today. Just months after making his producer debut with his remix of Robert DeLong’s “Long Way Home,” Win Music boss, Sean Glass, has delivered his latest effort, taking on Black Butter Records’ latest addition, M.O. and their track, “Preach.”

Glass has taken a relatively different path than many producers to achieve the same success. The talented musician began as a DJ, playing festivals like Coachella and EDC, before starting his own record label, Win Music. The very first track of his label was Duke Dumont’s Grammy-nominated hit,“Need U 100%,” and Win Music and Glass were instantly catapulted into the spotlight alongside Dumont and his track. With an ear for what sounds good and talent as a DJ, Glass tried his hand at production, to great success, as his debut remix charted #1 on The Hype Machine.

On his remix of “Preach,” Glass takes the pop anthem of M.O. and infuses the track with his personal U.K. Garage touch. By speeding up the tempo of the track and layering together a booming bass line with infectious hi-hats and a groove-driven melody, the production of the track perfectly complements the bubbly and catchy croons of the pop trio, giving Glass’ remix an interesting pop/deep house-esque personality. [Future Room] Calvin Harris – Outside Ft. Ellie Goulding (Bad Vision Remix)

Calvin Harris
Outside Ft. Ellie Goulding (Bad Vision Remix)

Future room? What is that you ask? It’s what Bad Vision cooked up with their remix of the Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding collaboration “Outside.” Obvious influences of big room are present, but don’t let that get you down, because what Bad Vision were able to do was spice things up in time for Spring fever. They’ve been known for their festival rocking records, and this latest one they did quite a number on. The use of counterpoint in the chorus is what really brings out the life in the track, which could have easily been made with the simple synth pluck melody. Instead, they went above and beyond to create something that has more than just one layer to it. Bad Vision pushed their take of “Outside” to the net for free, so if you’d like to download it, get to it!

Echosmith – Bright (Bobby Brush Remix) [TMN PREMIERE]

Bright (Bobby Brush Remix)

Summer is so close, we can practically taste it. By taste it, we, of course, mean ice cold beers, grilled meats, and the occasional, yet unfortunate mouthful of chlorinated water. We’ll gladly take the latter in stride, knowing full and well winter has come to an end, and warm weather is here to stay. As you’ve come to know, we fancy our indie rock and folk during the summer months, but sometimes you need something a little dancier to pick up the pool party’s tempo. Yes, you guessed it. That’s exactly what we have for you today.

Originally created by Los Angeles-based popsters Echosmith, “Bright” showcases the widely adored vocals of lead singer Sydney Sierota. It’s only natural to assume remixers would want to take a crack at the uplifting and heartwarming vocals, crafting a laidback and inspiring remix. Bobby Brush has done just that with this tropically inspired interpretation.

Rife with beachy bongos, upbeat guitar strumming, and a groovy bassline, this tune drifts far away from it’s contemporary radio station roots. The added sexy sax riff adds even more intrigue to the song, giving listeners what they’ve come to love with a solid tropical remix. Wrapping it all up in a bow, Brush crafted perfect sections of samples, which will surely please all the folks at your next pool, beach, rooftop, or backyard suaré.

[House] Oliver Heldens – Melody (Steven Lee Remix)

Melody (StevenLee Remix)

“Melody” by Oliver Heldens got swooped up by the New Yorker Steven Lee whose name should be familiar to fans of the duo Lee Cabrera. On his own, Steven worked up a cool take of “Melody,” fusing electro and deep house for a cool club sound. Of course, you’ve gotta throw a melody in a song with that very name, and we’d fair to say that his is even more catchy than the original’s. It’s a deceivingly simple track that has subtle components that really do a lot for the song, even if they aren’t the main elements; for example, the growly pad in the chorus that hits on one. It seems as though Steven is just getting started with a big push for the top. The time has come for his next musical chapter, and this is a page in that book. It’s one you can download for no charge.

See You Again (Ale Mora Remix)

You wouldn’t think that progressive house with a Wiz Khalifa song would go together. However, that’s just what we get with Ale Mora‘s heart-melting remix of “See You Again.” Big things are coming for the Costa Rican producer who has already seen success and support from the likes of Gareth Emery, Hardwell, and the Chainsmokers.

Moving melodies sway your soul into feeling some type of way, whether it’s in the breakdown with the piano or in the chorus with the synths. Festivals like Tomorrowland and Ultra have already seen what this guy can do, and he’s set to take the main stage at Ultra in Korea this year. The beautiful work he did on “See You Again” is just one example of why Ale deserves to be at such events. Ale released the flip for free, which can be downloaded here.
