Unfortunately, we’re a little late to this party. We normally love arriving fashionably late, but this time it stings a little bit. Luckily for us, there are still three dates left on the Anujunadeep North American Tour, including some at solid venues like Verboten, Mod Club, and Sound Bar.

Since it’s inception in 2005, Anjunadeep has continually gained the adoration of the electronic dance community. They now look to bring out some label legends, along with some newcomers to some of the best cities in North America.

We know, we know. Three shows have already come and gone, but three still remain. So press play, head over to the ticket page, and get ready to enjoy acts like: 16 Bit Lolitas, Beckwith, Jody Wisternoff, Lancelot, Lane 8, Martin Roth and Vincenzo.

It’s always incredible to see people using their talents to help support those in need, and next month, we get to see that front and center with the fine people behind Beats Drop Cancer.

As a part of a national series of shows, this organization is bringing A-list level talent to the Fog City the day before Valentine’s Day, showcasing John Beaver, The Crystal Method, Bobby Puma and more, all in the name of supporting Lukemia and Lymphoma society. In addition to some top-notch music, you can also expect elements of art, fashion, and dance included in this encompassing charitable experience.

Their end goal is a lofty one (raising $250,000 through this series of events), but one we feel like the dance community is capable of obtaining it. So, pick your tickets up here and enjoy not only the groovy beats, but the fact that you’re doing something to better the world around you.

[Nu-Disco/Progressive] Mansions on the Moon – Somewhere Else Tonight (Juno Ray Remix) [TMN Premiere]

Mansions on the Moon
Somewhere Else Tonight (Juno Ray Remix)

A couple TMN favorites have come crashing together as South Korean dance producer Juno Ray takes “Somewhere Else Tonight” from So-Cal four-piece Mansions on the Moon into the realm of Nu-House and Disko. Juno Ray’s made appearances on these hallowed Ninja grounds a few times behind a club edit of David Bowie & Queen’s classic “Under Pressure” and a nu-disco retooling of another MotM cut, “Radio”, but his latest remix is also the most textured release from the disco bender’s impressive output. Juno Ray takes auditory production cues equally from early Röyksopp’s poppy disco to Underworld’s educated blend of progressive house, trance and big-beat through this one; instilling a perfect counterpoint to Ted Wendler’s soothing incantaions; stating: “The ‘dream-like’ vibe of the remix was inspired by Ted’s dreamy vocal style. I wanted to support this vibe with a full blown dream-tronica set up, using meticulously chosen vintage synths. ”  Those aforementioned synths play as if they were manually modulated on a Roland TR-909, which is about as perfect of a sound this writer could hope to aurally consume on any dance record, while also revealing quite the creative flare in the process. We’ll be on top of Juno Ray’s 2015 campaign as it develops, but for now, stream his revivalist remix of “Somewhere Else Tonight” above.
