Why Chime named is EP Featherweight, I have no clue, because this four track project is heavy as f***. Released on Firepower Records, this project is dubstep through and through. If you can’t handle the bass, you better get up outta here.

One thing we’ve always loved about Chime’s sound is the influences he infuses into his work to separate them from the usual batch of bass records that his contemporaries come out with. Chime’s always kept his own style that he’s tweaked over the years. Featherweight is the culmination of that experimentation, mixed with the now common riddim style that has taken over the dubstep genre. You’ve been warned – dive into the bass if you’re ready and add this EP to your digital library.

[Music Video] SUBMERSIVE – Awaken

The trance-centric producer SUBMERSIVE came out with his single “Awaken” a couple of months ago, but now we’ve got an extension of the project thanks to a beautiful music video. If you enjoyed the song, then you’re going to be enamored by its visual partner.

“Awaken” isn’t your average trance record by any means. In choosing to do a music video for it, SUBMERSIVE really had to do something just as interesting and he nailed it with this natural wonder. Shot at Joshua Tree National Park, this video is mesmerizing for numerous reasons. Check it out now and grab the free download of the single.

Taska Black slowed it down with his remix of Petit Biscuit and Lido‘s song “Problems”. Straight off of the track’s remix EP, this particular one stands out from the others, and it’s pretty easy to see why. But you don’t need to take it from me, Petit Biscuit had this to say about it: “Taska Black made Problems sounds like one of the freshest future pop track ever. This is something different, something nice, and something we all try to find!”

Taska Black really presents his musical abilities in this remix. While holding onto Lido’s beautiful vocals, almost everything else in the track was redone by him. Everything culminates in the drop when Taska Black lets loose with future synths and a manipulated version of Lido’s voice. What strikes me the most about this remix, however, is how it manages to be mellow and exciting at the same time. The style is multifaceted, and it really reflects how versatile Taska Black is as a producer.
